Flathead Lake Preservation Organizations

Flathead Basin Commission:
http://flatheadbasincommission.org/
The Flathead Basin Commission (FBC) was created in 1983 by the Montana Legislature to monitor and protect water quality and natural resources in one of the State's most important watersheds. The FBC is a uniquely structured non-regulatory organization that works to accomplish its mandate in a consensus-building manner, stressing education, cooperation, broad based community involvement, and partnerships with agencies and nonprofits. The 23 member Commission represents a cross-section of citizens and local, state, tribal, federal and provincial agency representatives who strive to identify the Basin's water quality issues and work to implement effective solutions.

Flathead Lakers:

The Crown of the Continent Ecosystem Education Consortium C.O.C.E.E.C. http://www.crownofthecontinent.org/coceec.htm
Recognizing that regional ecosystems, such as the Crown of the Continent, are comprised of an intricate interweaving of environmental, social, and economic components, it is felt that raising local, regional, and global awareness of the components and function of such ecosystems is critical to achieving support for maintaining the integrity of the regional ecosystem.
